In COD, response curves determine how your aiming input on the controller translates to movement in the game. Understanding these curves can help you choose the one that best suits your playstyle. In most cases, Standard & Linear are the most popular.
Here are the different response curves, their benefits, and recommended settings for both controller and mouse & keyboard users:
Description: The default response curve that most players start with.
Benefits: Offers a balanced and familiar feel for most gamers. It provides a good mix of control and speed, making it suitable for a wide range of playstyles. Ideal for players who are used to standard FPS aiming mechanics.
Controller: Horizontal Sensitivity: 4, Vertical Sensitivity: 4, Deadzone: 5. Mouse: Horizontal Sensitivity: 20, Vertical Sensitivity: 20, Deadzone: 5.
Description: Provides a direct, one-to-one relationship between stick movement and aim.
Benefits: Offers a very predictable and straightforward aiming experience. It responds exactly as you move the stick, with no acceleration or smoothing. This is beneficial for players who prefer a more raw and direct control over their aim, similar to using a mouse on PC.
Controller: Horizontal Sensitivity: 4, Vertical Sensitivity: 4, Deadzone: 5. Mouse: Horizontal Sensitivity: 20, Vertical Sensitivity: 20, Deadzone: 5.
Description: Provides a more gradual and consistent aiming experience.
Benefits: Perfect for players who prioritize precision over speed. It allows for more controlled and stable aiming, which can be beneficial for long-range engagements and sniping. It reduces the likelihood of over-correcting your aim.
Controller: Horizontal Sensitivity: 4, Vertical Sensitivity: 4, Deadzone: 5. Mouse: Horizontal Sensitivity: 20, Vertical Sensitivity: 20, Deadzone: 5.
If you are using a DualSense Edgeยฎ controller, you must change the built-in Right Stick Sensitivity/Deadzone settings or it will break Anti-Recoil:
- Go to Settings > Accessories.
- Select DualSense Edge Wireless Controller > Custom Profiles.
- Select Create Custom Profile, call it 'COD BEAM2.0', then select OK.
- Select the profile you created and...
- Right Stick Sensitivity Curve: Default
- Curve Adjustment: 0
- Deadzone Adjustment: 0%
The Look Sensitivity setting is a critical feature that helps maintain your in-game precision. It controls how fast or slow the analog stick responds to in-game movments.
OLED Menu Navigation:
- Navigate Up-Down to "MOD11 In-Game Stk".
- Press A/Cross.
- Press Down two times.
- Navigate Left-Right to select your in-game Horizontal Sensitivity.
- Press Down once.
- Navigate Left-Right to select your in-game Vertical Sensitivity.
- Press Circle twice to save.
Custom FOV, labeled in-game as "FOV", determines how much area your player sees. Lower values will display less of the map while higher values will show more of the map. It is recommended to use a higher value as it is easier to see when you come across enemies. When using this option it is important to match whether using Affected or Independent FOV. If using Affected FOV match its value. If using Independent the ingame value does not affect anything in the gamepack.
OLED Menu Navigation:
- Navigate Up-Down to "MOD 13 Custom FOV".
- Navigate Left-Right to select your in-game Custom FOV.
- Press A/Cross if using Affected.
- Navigate Left-Right to select your in-game Consistent FOV value.
- Press Circle to save.
๏ปฟCustom FOV Options๏ปฟ | ๏ปฟValue๏ปฟ |
---|---|
Independent | Affected FOV value is ignored |
Affected | 60 - 120 |
๐ง Pro Tip
A higher FOV is ideal for quick environment scans. In contrast, a lower FOV shows you less information, beneficial for precision when wielding short to mid-range weapons.
This feature disables the physical vibration you would normally feel through your controller during gameplay.
OLED Menu Navigation:
- Navigate Up-Down to "MOD 14 In-Game Vib"
- Navigate Left-Right to select your preferred setting.
- Press Circle to save.
ALWAYS Enable In-Game Vibration
If you wish to disable the physical rumbles that are sent to your controller, it's important that the in-game vibration option is still enabled for all M.O.D.s to run correctly.
๏ปฟRumble Options๏ปฟ | ๏ปฟDescription๏ปฟ |
---|---|
Allow Rumble | Controller WILL receive rumbles. |
Block Rumble | Controller WILL NOT receive rumbles. |
๐ซ Troubleshooting
If you find your weapon is not beaming, even though all your in-game settings are correct, don't panic! After incorporating some great community feedback, we've identified a straightforward fix which should be done before programming a new GamePack.
If this doesn't resolve whatever issue you are having, then there could be a problem with a setting in the game itself, so we recommend that you erase the saved data:
- ๏ปฟPS Button > Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings > Select Saved Data (PS4), Select Console Storage > select Delete, Tick the game title and select Delete.
- Zen Studio > Programmer Tab - Program the latest version of the GamePack to the first memory slot of your Zen.
- Match up all the In-Game Settings and you'll be BEAMING in no time!
