๐Ÿ”ถ Look Deadzone

๏ปฟ

The Look Deadzone setting is a critical feature that helps maintain your in-game precision. It creates a buffer zone around the center of your analog stick, ignoring minor movements that could otherwise interfere with your gameplay.

๐Ÿ”ถ HIP Sensitivity

๏ปฟ

HIP sensitivity, labeled in-game as "Look Sensitivity", determines how swiftly your character turns when not aiming down sights (ADS). This setting ranges from 1 (slowest) to 8 (fastest), with 4 being a balanced choice for many players, offering a brisk turn speed without aiming.

OLED Menu Navigation:

  • Navigate Up-Down to "MOD 21 In-Game HIP".
  • Navigate Left-Right to select your in-game Look Sensitivity.
  • Press Circle to save.
Document image
๏ปฟ

๐Ÿง  Pro Tip

A higher HIP sensitivity results in rapid turningโ€”ideal for quick environment scans. In contrast, a lower sensitivity gives you a more deliberate turn pace, beneficial for precision when wielding short to mid-range weapons.

๐Ÿ”ถ ADS Sensitivity

๏ปฟ

ADS sensitivity, labeled as "Look Sensitivity [ADS]" in-game, determines how swiftly your character turns when aiming down sights (ADS). This setting ranges from 1 (slowest) to 8 (fastest), with 3 being a balanced choice for many players, offering a brisk turn speed while aiming.

OLED Menu Navigation:

  • Navigate Up-Down to "MOD 22 In-Game ADS".
  • Navigate Left-Right to select your in-game Look Sensitivity [ADS].
  • Press Circle to save.
Document image
๏ปฟ

๐Ÿง  Pro Tip

High ADS sensitivity means quicker turning which is great for tracking fast-moving targets. Lower sensitivity, on the other hand, offers more control and precision, but with a slower turning speed - ideal for maintaining steady aim or using snipers.

Typically, ADS Sensitivity is set 1 below HIP Sensitivity for optimum performance. Example, if Look Sensitivity is set to 5, Look Sensitivity [ADS] should be set to 4.

๐Ÿ”ถ Response Curve

๏ปฟ

Response curve settings shape the way your analog stick movements transform into in-game character actions. This GamePack supports all response curves: Classic, Steady, Fine Aim, High Velocity, and Linear.

OLED Menu Navigation:

  • Navigate Up-Down to "MOD 23 In-Game RC".
  • Navigate Left-Right to select your in-game Response Curve.
  • Optional: Press CROSS to select an Artificial Deadzone (See below).
  • Press Circle to save.

๏ปฟArtificial Deadzone (Press CROSS to access)๏ปฟ

Default 0. Range 0-1000.

๐Ÿ’€ Artificial Deadzone

This setting will counter stick drift and prevent a weapon from drifting. If you notice that you are unable to get a weapon steady even after setting up Anti-Recoil increase the value (1 to 1000) of this setting. Most Dualsense controllers are likely to fall within the range of 200 to 500 and we recommend the default value of 500. Most hall effect controllers will be in the 100 to 200 range if they are not perfectly calibrated. If you have ensured your controller with hall effect sticks is perfectly calibrated we recommend a value of 100 for best performance. Setting Artifical Deadzone too high may cause delayed stick movement and setting it to low may cause Anti-Recoil not to work its best when not moving the right analog stick.

If you encounter a weapon drifting after setting up Anti-Recoil, start with setting the Artificial Deadzone to "500". This will make your Right Stick behave similarly to a "Small" Look Deadzone.

๐Ÿ•น๏ธ How to Counter Stick Drift

To counter stick drift using the in-game settings, follow these steps:

  1. Set Look Deadzone to 'Small': This helps to minimize drift by reducing the sensitivity of the analog stick.
  2. Set Look Sensitivity between 3-5: This range balances responsiveness and control.
  3. Fine-Tune ADS Sensitivity: For more precision during aiming down sights (ADS), reduce the Look Sensitivity [ADS] by 1. For example, if Look Sensitivity is set to 5, set Look Sensitivity [ADS] to 4.

๐ŸŽฎ DualSenseยฎ Edge Curve

If you are using a DualSense Edgeยฎ controller, you must change the built-in Right Stick Sensitivity/Deadzone settings or it will break Anti-Recoil:

  • Go to Settings > Accessories.
  • Select DualSense Edge Wireless Controller > Custom Profiles.
  • Select Create Custom Profile, call it 'Apex BEAM2.0', then select OK.
  • Select the profile you created and...
  • Right Stick Sensitivity Curve: Default
  • Curve Adjustment: 0
  • Deadzone Adjustment: 0%

๐Ÿฅ Which Curve to Use?

๏ปฟ

In Apex Legends, response curves determine how your aiming input on the controller translates to movement in the game. Understanding these curves can help you choose the one that best suits your playstyle. In most cases, Classic & Linear are the most popular.

Here are the different response curves, their benefits, and recommended settings for both controller and mouse & keyboard users:

๐Ÿฅ Classic

Description: The default response curve that most players start with.

Benefits: Offers a balanced and familiar feel for most gamers. It provides a good mix of control and speed, making it suitable for a wide range of playstyles. Ideal for players who are used to standard FPS aiming mechanics.

Controller: Look Sensitivity HIP: 4, ADS: 3, Deadzone: None or Small. Mouse: Look Sensitivity HIP: 7, ADS: 7, Deadzone: Small.

๐Ÿฅ Linear

Description: Provides a direct, one-to-one relationship between stick movement and aim.

Benefits: Offers a very predictable and straightforward aiming experience. It responds exactly as you move the stick, with no acceleration or smoothing. This is beneficial for players who prefer a more raw and direct control over their aim, similar to using a mouse on PC.

Controller: Look Sensitivity HIP: 4, ADS: 3, Deadzone: Small. Mouse: Look Sensitivity HIP: 7, ADS: 7, Deadzone: Small.

There is a known firmware bug that can slightly reduce the performance of the linear curve when the deadzone is set to 'None.' Some users might not notice it, but if you do, we recommend trying a 'Small' deadzone. Alternatively, you can use the 'Classic' curve with 'None' deadzone.

๐Ÿฅ Steady

Description: Provides a more gradual and consistent aiming experience.

Benefits: Perfect for players who prioritize precision over speed. It allows for more controlled and stable aiming, which can be beneficial for long-range engagements and sniping. It reduces the likelihood of over-correcting your aim.

Controller: Look Sensitivity HIP: 4, ADS: 4, Deadzone: Small. Mouse: Look Sensitivity HIP: 7, ADS: 7, Deadzone: Small.

๐Ÿฅ Fine Aim

Description: Offers a finer, more detailed control over your aim.

Benefits: Ideal for players who require high accuracy, especially in close-quarter combat. It allows for precise adjustments, making it easier to hit small or moving targets. Great for players who have a steady hand and prefer pinpoint accuracy. This curve functions similarly to the popular Dynamic curve found in Call of Duty.

Controller: Look Sensitivity HIP: 4, ADS: 3, Deadzone: Small. Mouse: Look Sensitivity HIP: 7, ADS: 7, Deadzone: Small.

๐Ÿฅ High Velocity

Description: Accelerates your aim more quickly as you move the stick.

Benefits: Best for aggressive players who rely on quick reflexes and fast movements. It helps you rapidly adjust your aim, making it easier to track fast-moving enemies. Suitable for players who enjoy a high-paced gameplay style and need to switch targets quickly.

Controller: Look Sensitivity HIP: 4, ADS: 3, Deadzone: Small. Mouse: Look Sensitivity HIP: 7, ADS: 7, Deadzone: Small.

๐Ÿ”Ž Advanced Look Controls (ALC)

BEAM2.0 does not support ALC so it should be disabled.

However, even if it is already disabled, ALC can alter game dynamics and interfere with Anti-Recoil.

To ensure optimal performance:

  1. Reset ALC to its default settings. Head to Settings > Controller > Advanced Look Controls and hold the VIEW/TOUCHPAD button.
  2. Deactivate ALC by opting for 'Custom Look Controls' and toggling it to 'OFF'.

๐Ÿง  Pro Tip

For optimal Anti-Recoil performance, set the in-game 'Per Optic Settings' to default, then turn them off. If not aligned properly, mismatches in scope sensitivity and your Look Sensitivity [ADS] can cause recoil discrepancies.

Instructions:

  • In-Game Menu > Settings > Per Optic Settings
  • Choose 'On'
  • Press TOUCHPAD
  • Confirm with 'Yes'
  • Then, select 'Off'

๐Ÿ”ถ Console Selection

๏ปฟ

Console Selection allows you to manually set your console to optimize Anti-Recoil for your specific system. If you skip this step, the Anti-Recoil feature may require more significant adjustments and may not perform as effectively.

๐Ÿšซ Troubleshooting

If you find your weapon is not beaming, even though all your in-game settings are correct, don't panic! After incorporating some great community feedback, we've identified a straightforward fix which should be done before programming a new GamePack.

  • Perform a Hard Reset๏ปฟ on the Zen, which will clear all memory slots and settings.

If this doesn't resolve whatever issue you are having, then there could be a problem with a setting in the game itself, so we recommend that you erase the saved data:

  1. ๏ปฟPS Button > Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings > Select Saved Data (PS4), Select Console Storage > select Delete, Tick the game title and select Delete.
  2. Zen Studio > Programmer Tab - Program the latest version of the GamePack to the first memory slot of your Zen.
  3. Match up all the In-Game Settings and you'll be BEAMING in no time!
