If you see an error saying "Failed to Retrieve Packs", it means your ISP is blocking the Cronus server, so you will need to use a VPN service. There are many free ones, we recommend the Google Chrome plugin VeePN.

*DualSense Bluetooth does not support Adaptive Triggers so it cannot support the features of any BEAM GamePack.

**A headset must be connected to the AUTH controller (In this case the standard DualSense that must be connected to A1. Tip: You can also connect a wireless headset directly to the PS5.

Here are the steps for setting up a DualSense or DualSense Edge controller to a PS5 using a Cronus Zen.

NOTE: These steps must be done every time you reset your PS5.

To play with a DualSense Edge on a PS5 using a Cronus Zen, you'll also need a standard DualSense controller to A1.

  1. Connect a standard DualSense Controller directly to your PS5.
  2. Go to Settings > Accessories > Turn Off Accessories > Select the DualSense controller so that it turns off.
  3. Unplug the DualSense from the PS5 and connect it to Zen's A1 USB port.
  4. Connect the Zen to the PS5 from its rear CONSOLE/PC USB port and wait for 10 secs.
  5. That's it! 🙂
  6. DUALSENSE EDGE & CROSSOVER: If you are using a DualSense Edge, or any other brand of controller, a standard DualSense® must always be connected to A1, and the controller you wish to game with then connects to USB ports A2 or A3.

DualSense Edge Curve

If you are using a DualSense Edge controller, you must change the built-in Right Stick Sensitivity/Deadzone settings to default or it will break Anti-Recoil (all the sensitivity/curve settings are handled by the GamePack)

  • Go to Settings > Accessories.
  • Select DualSense Edge Wireless Controller > Custom Profiles.
  • Select Create Custom Profile, call it 'Apex BEAM2.0', then select OK.
  • Select the profile you created and...
  • Right Stick Sensitivity Curve: Default
  • Curve Adjustment: 0
  • Deadzone Adjustment: 0%

🚫 Troubleshooting

If you find your weapon is not beaming, even though all your in-game settings are correct, don't panic! After incorporating some great community feedback, we've identified a straightforward fix which should be done before programming a new GamePack.

  • Perform a Hard Reset on the Zen, which will clear all memory slots and settings.

If this doesn't resolve whatever issue you are having, then there could be a problem with a setting in the game itself, so we recommend that you erase the saved data:

  1. PS Button > Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings > Select Saved Data (PS4), Select Console Storage > select Delete, Tick the game title and select Delete.
  2. Zen Studio > Programmer Tab - Program the latest version of the GamePack to the first memory slot of your Zen.
  3. Match up all the In-Game Settings and you'll be BEAMING in no time!
