PS5 support requires a specific third-party licensed PS4 controller to act as a 'donor' which we call the PS4 Speciality Controller (third-party means NOT an original Sony controller).
This controller can be used as a license donor, so you are able to play PS5/PS4 games using the new DualSense Controller, the Sony DualShock 4 Controller (DS4) and most licensed Xbox Controllers 👉 click here for the current list of known 'Speciality Controllers.
Tip: This will allow you to use all Cronus Zen functionality, including your favorite PS5/Xbox Series X|S/PS4/Xbox One controllers, GamePacks, and Scripts with PS5/PS4 games without any timeouts or disconnections! (Note: Some PS5 Games do not support rumble at this time.)
Select "Enable PS4 Speciality (For PS5 Console)". You will be prompted to "Please Wait. Resetting Device, If the device does not come back up please click FIND DEVICE".
Select "Enable PS Remote Play". You will be prompted to "Please Wait. Resetting Device, If the device does not detect, click the FIND DEVICE button.
Cronus Zen supports all six major output protocols: PLAYSTATION 4/5, XBOX ONE X|S, NINTENDO SWITCH, PS3, XBOX 360, and PC/MOBILE. Use the drop-down menu to select the corresponding protocol to the console system you are using.
Important: If you are having trouble getting your controller to work on a PC, try setting the Output Protocol manually to Xbox 360 or PC/Mobile.
For the most part, you will only need to have Auto selected. This will usually detect which console you are using and will also emulate the output to match the controller if you are connected to a PC.
Info: The 'Mirror' reflects the source controller connected to Zen's A1 USB Port. Any controller that is then connected to A2, A3, or Bluetooth will appear on the console whatever the mirror is reporting. This is how we're able to connect a PS4 controller to an Xbox One. An Xbox One controller is connected to A1, so the Mirror always reflects the Xbox One controller, even though you are gaming with a PS4 controller. Magic sauce!
Note: Not applicable to the PS5.
Change Cronus Zen memory slots remotely using your controller. The available buttons change depending on what controller you have connected.

The Device Monitor shows all real-time information about your Cronus Zen: I/O data, CPU Load, VM Speed, Battery Info, 3 x USB & 2 x Bluetooth Input display, and VID/PID info, Memory Slot control, Controller Power access, Rumble data, LED data and more!

If the Zen does not detect in Zen Studio and the USB cables are good, this will help re-sync the discovery of the device.
Reset the Zen without manually power cycling.
Bluetooth pairings can become corrupt causing controller disconnections. Especially if you have ever paired more than one device which can sometimes result in cross contamination. We have included a function to erase all BT pairing history from the Zen, however it requires a couple of steps:
- The device you wish to unpair? Turn it's power off (if it's a controller, hold down the XBOX/PS button for 5-15 seconds until the LED turns off).
- Open Zen Studio, click the Device Tab and press the Clear BT Devices button.
- You'll get a popup asking if you wish to clear Bluetooth Device. Click yes until the taskbar says "All registered Bluetooth devices have been cleared" (see image below).
- Now disconnect all USB cables from the Cronus Zen.
- It's now important to pair the device to something else other than the Zen, or it will continually try to pair to the Zen causing controller disconnections.
- Once that is done you can start using your Zen again 🙂
