STEP 1: Install Zen Studio
Meet Zen Studio, our exclusive Windows software, now at version . Dive into a toolkit that lets you mix and match controllers, setup mice and keyboards, gives you access to 200+ expert curated GamePacks, and tap into thousands of free scripts in our exclusive GPC Library, open only to registered Zen owners.
GAMEPACKS & SCRIPTS WARNING
Before you get started it is important that you do not try to use any GamePacks or scripts until you've completed Step 4.
We know you're eager, but taking the time to do this right now will save you from major headaches later. Stick to the plan and set yourself up for success. 👍
Plug your Cronus Zen into a computer using the PROG USB port.
The ZEN SERIAL NUMBER will display bottom right also, you'll need this for registering with the Cronus Community.
REGISTERED TO SOMEONE ELSE?
If your Zen was purchased from a third-party, then it is still likely used and tied to a different account, which denies you access to the Cronus Community, while also attaching your Zen to any number of social media accounts. Given the care and extra steps involved, there is a small fee. Just head over to cronus.support/unregister, grab the service, and follow the instructions.
DEVICE DISCONNECTED
If Zen Studio's taskbar displays Device Disconnected or some other error, this is usually a faulty USB cable, however you should check out the Zen Studio Troubleshooting Guide for a solution to every possible issue.
Important: Any time you install a new version of Zen Studio, listen up! To avoid glitches from old files, head to Tools > Reset Zen Studio, and hit Yes. It'll restart quickly, all shiny and new. 🌟
Note: This will erase all backups, settings, and any previously stored files.
Unplug the PROG USB cable from the Cronus Zen, but keep it connected to the PC for STEP 2: Update Firmware
